A
quickstart guide to using Photobucket.com |
**Please
be patient while photos load** |
Navigate
to http://www.photobucket.com Sign in or set up your free account Before uploading, I recommend going to your 'account options' and click 'yes' next to "Make Public" under Album Options |
| This is where you'll upload your pictures:
|
When you hit the 'browse' button, a window like this will open. You will need to navigate through the folders on your computer to find the picture you want to upload. The easiest way to do this is to save your pictures to you "My Documents" folder. You can see there's a shortcut to "My Documents" on the left pane of the "Choose File" window. Once you find your picture, click on it and hit open
|
Once
you hit "Open" your screen will come back to this screen, and
you'll see it listed in the "Picture" field. ![]() |
| You can name your picture by typing in the box next to "Tag or Title"
|
It will take a few seconds to a few minutes for your picture to upload, depending on your connection speed and the size of your picture. Once it's done uploading, you will see something like this:
|
| Now you want to open a new window to go to the gardeners forum, and begin posting a new message. If you don't see the set of buttons next to the instant graemlins, click 'full reply form' which will be next to 'add new topic'
|
| Go
back to your photobucket window and click in the box next to 'URL' to
highlight it.
|
| Come back to gardeners forum, and hit the button that says "URL"
|
| Now,
delete the http:// that comes up, and replace it with what you copied
from photobucket, by
|
| Here you have the option of naming your link. When people read your post, this is what they will see as the 'title' of the link.
|
| I made my title say 'my peach' since that's the picutre the link will point to when it's clicked.
|
| When
I do a 'Preview Post' this shows you what the link will look like in your
post.
|
| Here's
another option for including pictures in your posts, without using a link.
|
| Since
the gardeners forum is set up to translate the same kind of code you just
copied, all you have to do is paste it into the message field.
|
| This
is a preview of what it will look like when I post my message.
|
I hope that's helped. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a PM by clicking this button next to my name in this post
